Free Activities for Children in Fairfield County
Are you a parent wondering where you can find free activities for children in Fairfield County CT? There are many activities for the children at no cost to your family. Peanut Butter Jam Session
One of the first free activities for children in Fairfield County to be discussed is the Peanut Butter Jam Session, which is a series of Picnic Performances for children. The shows will be held at the Sherman Green this summer and will feature interactive musical performances. You can bring a picnic to this event. All shows begin at 12:30 pm and in the event of rain the performances will be held in the Penfield Pavilion on Fairfield Beach Road.
Starlight, Starbright Family Movie Nights
Another of the Free Activities for Children in Fairfield County to be held this year is the Starlight, Starbright Family Movie Nights. Each movie night will be held beginning at 8:45 at Jennings Beach on Friday evenings. Check with the Parks department website FairfieldRecreation.com for movie details.
Together is Better Story Hour
At the Fairfield Public Library will be holding Together is Better Story Hour for four and five year old children. This program features middle and high school students who will read to the children as well as play interactive games with the kids. This program will be held specifically at the Fairfield Public Library Woods Branch on July 7th, 14th, and 21st at 10 am until 11:00. Parents are encouraged to reregister their children for this fun hour of reading and play by contacting the Fairfield Library main branch. This is a wonderful way to introduce the smaller children to social situations as well as introducing them to the love of reading books. It is also a great thing for moms and dads who can meet other parents while watching the event.
Beach Fest 2009
For the older kids there is Beach Fest 2009, presented by the Town Youth Council on June 12th at the Penfield Pavilion from 3 pm to midnight. This event is for all high school students, there will be hands such as Mercury Sky, Hysteria and many more. As you can see, there are many free activities for children in Fairfield County, each one more fun than the last. Take time to check some of these activities out with your children today.
