CD & DVD Packaging Sleeves

What are CD and DVD Packaging Sleeves?

 

The CD and DVD Packaging sleeves are the protective layer around the CD or DVD which is made up of high tech material. They are strong yet light weight so that handling them is easier. Usually they are made up of plastic materials which are water resistant and chemical resistant.

 

Mostly, the CD and DVD Packaging sleeve are tear resistant and pH neutral. Due to their non abrasive nature, they do not leave any mark on your CD or DVD.

 

Anti static Property: They have anti static property. This makes your CD or DVD dirt free since dirt can only accumulate when the disc remain static. The anti static property also ensures that the disc is readable and no damage to its surface is produced while it is kept inside the packaging sleeve.

 

There are two types of packaging sleeves. One type is for the CDs and the other is for the DVDs. They are explained below:

 

CD Packaging Sleeves: They are also called Disc Packaging Sleeves.

 

Single Sleeve: It ensures protection from scratches, dust and debris for individual discs. It is available along with flap closure or even without it.

 

Double Sleeve: The double sleeve can hold a single CD or a double CD along with a booklet.

 

Mountable Sleeve: Mountable sleeves allow the CDs to be mounted properly on a book, catalog or a file folder.

 

Fan Pac: It comprises unique fanfold structure for the purpose of protecting a number of discs.

 

Accord-A-Box: Like the former, it provides protection to a number of discs at the same time. It has a fully enclosed hard shell like structure.

 

Multimedia Mailer: It is a bubble lined CD Mailer. It is offered for VHS Mailer and Floppy Disc Mailer.

 

The DVD Packaging Sleeves are the following:

 

Single Sleeve: Although single layered, the sleeve provides optimum protection to your DVD. It protects from dirt, scratches and debris. You can obtain it with or without windows.

 

Double Sleeve: This can hold two DVDs and one booklet together.

 

How to test whether the CD and DVD packaging sleeves are really abrasion and dirt free or not?

 

There are various ways of testing the packaging sleeve. You can test whether the packaging sleeve is dirt free or not. There are polypropylene sleeves as well as vinyl filmed sleeves. They are efficient in protecting the CD and DVD against radial noise.

 

Vibration and Drop tests are also performed to see the longevity and protective function of the CD and DVD protecting sleeves. Elevated temperature tests are also performed to see whether they can protect the CD and DVD at higher temperature.
