Introducing The Blackberry Curve 8910
Once again, Research in Motion (RIM) has come out with one of the most exciting smart phones today that has been creating a significant amount of internet buzz, the BlackBerry Curve 8910. For those who don’t know, RIM is the popular Canadian wireless giant best known for coming out with the line of BlackBerry smart phone, the mobile phone of choice for most businessmen and working people. This line of phones is very popular because of its great combination of communication and organization features.
About a year ago, it came out with the Curve 8900, which became one of the company’s most popular smart phones. And now, its replacement has been introduced to the market with all hopes of overtaking the 8900 in smart phone sales all over the world.
Rundown of Features
There were rumors that the BlackBerry Curve 8910 will only be available outside of the US, but there have been sightings of various filings on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for this smart phone. There were also rumors that the phone will have no 3G and instead will sport EDGE connectivity only, although it seems this is also untrue. It does promise to come out with a faster, evolved EDGE for data. It has downlink data speed of up to 473 kbps, which is pretty impressive. It features support for GPRS, radio quadband GSM and EDGE with DLDC, as well as LatRed support for the smart phone’s evolved EDGE connectivity.
This smart phone is very pleasing to the eyes with its LCD display with 480 x 360 pixel resolution. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera that comes with flash and autofocus. It has High Speed micro USB as well as Bluetooth 2.1. Another good thing about this phone is that it features an advanced optical navigation module to make it easier for you. It also has functional hard keys for volume, user configurable keys, media keys and a mute key. It is UMA supported, has Wi-Fi connectivity at 802.11b/g/n and GPS (with a-GPS functionality).
When talking to someone, you can activate the speaker phone function so that you can hear the other person better. With its BB 5.0 software, its 1500 mAhr M-S1 battery and its 256 MB internal memory and 256 MB SDR RAM, the BlackBerry Curve 8910 is sure to make life easier for you.
Comparison with the 8900
One of the most noticeable differences of this mobile phone with the 8900 is that it comes equipped with a trackpad to replace the traditional trackball you would normally find in a smart phone from this name. This move aims to address the complaints from users that the trackball is difficult to manipulate. It also uses the more advanced BlackBerry OS 5.0.4+.
The Wait Begins
There is still no official word from RIM as to when this smart phone will be available to the public. However, there are a lot of rumors that this phone will be hitting the European and Asian market in the first quarter of 2010.
