Where would you find someone interested in old machinist tools?
Just looking for some ideas, i'm for some reason just not sold on the whole ebay thing. And computers are not really one of my strong points.I'm mainly interested in finding out their values. I have a old machinist tool box that was my fathers that he used back in the 60's-70's. And some of them appear to be older, possible antique or collectors items. There are outside and inside micrometers, Dial indicators, machinist blocks, hand clamps, gauges, Drill Bits, a push drill and other things I can't identify. Brands like, Brown & Sharp, Starrett, Interapid, Sears, Roebuck & Co., Federal Testmaster and so on. I keep finding sites that claim they have the values, but then they either don't or they don't have the model. I live in the sticks and there really are not any appraisers anywhere close or even reasonably close. Thank you for any help or ideas
These Tools could be collectors items. try a flea market, the pros show up first .
i would do some research your Old Tools may be worth a great deal more than you think. try searching for the Tools that you have see what comes up. Call around to machine shops..etc.. or perhaps even get the schedule for the Antique road show and go to it!
perhaps contact an antique vendor, and give then a call, take some pictures of the items.
Do not sell untill you know the value.
